Description
Valerie’s Supplement includes thousands of words arranged in order of difficulty and in three difficulty levels (novice, junior varsity, and varsity). “In addition to allowing students to progress from easy to difficult words, this sequencing deters guessing a word’s fist letter by its placement in a list” (Valerie Tarrant).
Words in the novice list range from cub, keg, mug to pacifistically, representative, counterclockwise.
Words in the junior varsity list range from arc, hue, awe, to flibbertigibbet, cinematographer, authoritarianism.
Words in the varsity list range from ode, tun, lay to electroluminescence, otorhinolaryngology, electroencephalograph.
An alphabetical list appears at the end of the book along with a list of words with an -ible suffix and a list of words ending with a -ceous suffix.
Good luck, spellers!
